Hey guys,

I need Clevite rod bearings and a pan gasket quickly. Any recommendations for websites you like that can provide price and expediency?

I absolutely loath driving across this town looking for parts:banghead:

Rock Auto for peice. Discount coupon is in OT stickey
Summit Racing for expediency. They are in Reno. You'll get it next day by ground.

Well, I guess I needed nothing in a hurry.

Turns out that even though the crank looked good after the bearing failure the rod cap must be ovalled. It was tight with the new bearing. Since it was a throwaway I cranked the engine a few times to see where it's tight but the engine is still gonna have to come out.

Taking the engine out has got all kinds of opportunities swimming in my head. What can I get away with and still pass SMOG? The mind boggles:yahoo:

I really like rockauto.com and Summit Racing. I'm amazed that Summit can deliver so quickly. Call one day, and if it's in their Reno warehouse which most stuff is, it's delivered next late afternoon to my doorstep in Los Angeles. I can see on their shipping tracers that the order ships from Reno at about 1:00 AM and is delivered to me at about 4:00 PM the same day. 15 hours from Reno to my doorstep ...amazing. Since I don't have to pay sales tax (8 1/2%), the savings in sales tax pays for shipping on many items.
