Rubber seals on chassis extensions

I am putting the chassis extensions (front) which support the vacuum chamber and other stuff at the front of my 73. Originally these rubber seals were attached using staples. I do not have a stapler that will do this and dont really want to go and buy one just for a dozen of so staples.
I am not an NCRS advocat, so what would be a reasonable way to attach these seals to the inner fender skirts.

3M weatherstrip adhesive works but is messy. You can use stainless steel mechanics wire cut to 1 1/2" and bend them into the staples. Sounds like pain but was really not too bad. Then you can take them off if you need to also.
