sad news "over there"

i know some of you have abandoned the other place, and some of us wander between the two.
just caught this post:

one of the mods, irishmac, has apparently passed unexpectedly today. i know mods over there have been the source of a great deal of animosity but i never had a problem with mac. i think he was one of the better ones. either way, i know many of us have some history over there, and he's part of it.

That is sad. Regardless of what you think of "over there" there's three kids with no father today and they are way too young for that.
