I saw my first parts in the jetstream blue that I want for my car. They were painted by way of test, because the painter had no experience with this paint scheme. Absolutely beautifull.
Sorry but no pictures yet.

WOW! I had forgotten about you researching that color.

Look forward to the pics. :drink:

Will try to get some, but seriously guys, i was pleasantly surprised. It was better than my own tests. It's a very beautifull blue, with a deep shine to it.

Talk is cheap...

The interior was orginally black and still in very good condition. I was planning on keeping it. Besides the 68-80 blue interiors I don't see what would be a better combo. But that kind of blue is not standard for a 79 so, there is not much choice i would think.

BTW : In reality you can see the color ever so slightly shifting to turqoise or green depending on the side you view it. Before I was thinking that the more tinted clear coat (which is a wrong term here) I used the better, but apparently the shifting is less when more layers are used.

The plastic pieces are special models they use to display paints, they resemble miniature cars with the curves.. The painter specifically ordered these to do the tests. They all have a different layer build up, going from 2-4-6-8-10

I think a black interior would look good with that blue - black would go with most things. I've always wondered what those little test pieces were, seen them used to display powder coat colours too...

Well I started bringing in the rest of my car.

The painter went over it. There are still some large lows in the primer here and there. Very hard to see, but only when making it shiny and under bright lights. I checked my parts and body as much as possible with the light of sun and I was pretty much convinced that almost everything had been straightened.
Even the painter is not sure how far you can go with these fiberglass bodies in getting them slick.
That leaves me with the question of how good one can get these cars within reason..

I sprayed water on the primer and looked at the reflections at an angle. I think for example this quarter panel is very straight (my flare install back in 2006):
