Shaft rockers

Do you have 600+ lift? If not, total waste. You won't have the spring open & closed pressures to warrant them, neither the RPMs. Get a stud girdle and the 7/16 studs, they go a long way. To reflect on it a little, look at what the old high revving Z28 302s had...all stamped rockers, stock stuff. They turned more rpms than most do nowadays.

I really like the OEM parts same as TT. But when you get into spring pressures you are talking about stuff starts bending. You can appreciate how much when you set up the valve train after the cam is degreed. Using an old stock spring measure the lift at the retainer (assuming it does not coil stack). Should be very close to your actual lift multipled by the rocker ratio. Assume it is correct and then put on the springs you want to use. I bet you lose .050" lift at the retainer. If you occassionally buzz to the redline in every gear stock will last forever but you leave some power on the table. If you hit redline and stay there awhile or road race you want the durability and the extra hp from the JEsel stability. I saw a video made with a super high speed camera for SAE and there stuff just plain works but you need to decide if it is for your application.

I already have crane gold race rockers, these should be up to the task, except I have them sitting at an angle towards the valve. And this has got me worried that it will wear out the valve guides real fast.

What matters is if they wipe the stem properly and don't bind on the stud, look at these crower lifters, they sit just like yours. The cam has about similar lift as yours.
