Just picked these up at the engravers today. It was a little bit of a learning experience for me, the powder coater and the engraver; however, overall I'm pretty happy with the way they came out.

So whatta ya think?

U can't use BOTH sets of valve covers...

so??? make me a offer I can't refuse...

:smash:

I hates to rain on your parade Gene but it looks like 3 pix of the same VC's. They are mighty nice!

Shit, oh well, time for another beer....

rats....oh well, they edge mount anyway....but I could get adapters....

:confused2:

Thanks for the positive comments guys. I'm losing my job in a couple months and am considering manufacturing and marketing these (with various custom logos) to to tide me over till I find another job. Think anybody would buy them?

I'll be your customer then :) I'll need some engraved in the near future, that is..if I don't go bonkers and shell out 400$ for those carbon covers I was lusting over :)

How deep are those engraved? The fabricated covers are usually about 2mm alu sheet so they can't be hogged out a lot.

Oh no? C4s, 5s and 6s are not metric? :D

It's you all who have a screwed system, do you count in decimals or in dozes, or fractions of 16? Thank the brits for their messed up ancient system. Decimal based system rules all :D

Cool! I couldn't ask for a more prestigious customer! :1st:

The laser engraving on my covers hardly has any depth. It basically just burned away the paint. I don't think they can go much deeper than .005" with laser. I milled a pocket about .020" deep just to outline for the powdercoater. Shoudn't be a problem with your .079" (happy Bird?) fabricated covers.

You know you could just put that imitation carbon fiber film on some cheap valve covers and then engrave a design through the film.

The Americans are converting to the metric system...slowly.... inch by inch.....:lol::lol:

I just wish we done it 50++ years ago so as I didn't have to DICK with that SHIT.....

as it is....I keep my sockets color coded with spray bomb....Amer/eng is orange, metric is silver in 1/4 inch drives....3/8 metric is black....larger is just the American impact set....

there are limits on what I can afford to buy in tools...so far they work...
