OK, I admit, I am a looser, I have searched and read all I can find about spark plugs and I am more lost than before.

New engine build, compression under 10, 350 CI, mild cam, GM iron heads. Engine cam with r45ts plugs, which I think means resistor,14 mm, 5 heat rating, extened tip. What the heck is the difference in heat rating numbers, up or down + / -? With my setup do I need the 5's or go higher? I do ALOT of cruising in slow traffic, not much hotrodding around, and would like to keep plugs from fouling. Also need a couple of shorty plugs due to headers? I have come across ACCEL shorty's with no flipping clue what the heat ratings are. Any help about this mystery subject would be great. tt

Accell plugs are overpriced....

having said that, your numbers 45ts is fine....but if you stick a X on the end of it, it seems to me that the shank up top is somewhat shorter than the others...

now I remember finding something for my iron heads like with looking for a shorter shank to help with header clearance...and the difference was the X on the end, the rest of the plugs were identical far as I could see....

they worked fine...but I forget if they had the gasket/compression rings, or the tapered fit trick....

but in that case AC DID make a shorter shank plug....
