Hello,
I am stuck on figuring out how to hook up my new brake lines. I bought a set of SS brake lines and I have no idea how to connect the front and the back, I am not using the distributing block anymore. The car has aftermarket brakes, master cylinder, hydroboost, and proportioning valve. The proportioning valve only has one in and one out how do I hook the two fronts and the one coming from the back? Is there a Y block I can use or do I use two proportioning valves? I am lost I am sure it will make sense once I get some kind of reply I am just stumped over here. Help? :surrender:
Anyone with pictures or ideas or anything are welcome to help. :twitch:

Are the SS brake lines you bought, made for your car? If so why don't you use the distribution blocks?

Just my $.01.

Not using the distribution block is not a good idea. It's primary function is to shut off one end in the event of a major leak, and light the BRAKE warning light.

You should have a master cylinder with 2 lines coming out of it, one is front and one is rear. Usually, they are different sizes too.

I see you have an aftermarket system. Call the manufacturer and ask them to be sure.

You really don't want to be a test pilot.

Hey guys, I did some more research about this and found out the Wilwood makes a combination proportioning valve and a brake safety light/switch. The reason I wasn't planning on using the stock distributing block is my entire system is after market. Can the stock blocks be tuned? I have the same size rotor all around (13") but my front brake has six pistons and the back has four. I am not sure what the braking ratio is on a stock distributing block and how well it would work on my modified system. That's why I was planning on getting rid of it. The brake lines are in fact for my car not something I made although, it looks like I am going to be playing with them. Let me know what you guys think, and trust me I am not looking into being a test pilot on this one. :oh: Are there any guys here running big brakes? What have you done?

The part number is Wilwood 260-11179

Thank you guys keep the ideas coming please.

Start with the stock blocks and prop valve. (Not really a valve).34954470bdcd1f.jpg
You can add a prop valve later. I use the SS braided brake hoses. Better/firmer pedal.

Hey Guys,
I spoke to wilwood today and they said the stock block is meant for the stock brakes or a mild upgrade. However, the new prop valve that they just came out with will do the job for my larger brakes. So I won't have to use the stock block. It even has an “idiot” light to indicate low brake pressure or low pad which is pretty cool. Thank you for all your help. Let’s see how well this works.
