T-Top Weather Stripping

Need a little help here. I am replacing the T-Top weather stripping on my 69 and once I removed the old stripping I noticed that the section of stainless on the edge above the window has been riveted on. I can't believe this is correct. How would it be removed for painting. Shouldn't this be screwed to the top.

pre 77 it's riveted,mid 77 changed over to the later style where it's screwed down.

Thanks for the info. I replace the passenger side weather stripping last night. Not to bad a of an ordeal, but I think I got a generic kit for the T-tops, because it didn't have the metal reinforcement in the section above the window. Now if it just fixes the leaks I will be golden.
