Talk about selling something that is not needed.....

5$ or 10$ worth of material.

Depending on how much you value your time, it might be a good deal.

Necessary? I don't know. Ditch the box completely and go r&p.

Yeh, I went R&P myself, back in winter 01-02 before any kits were out....rolled my own so to speak, like a fellow in Europe inspired me to try....think his name was Yoshi?? avatar was his car with him saluting next to it, while crouching down....I got some European part # that of course would not cross to anything domestic GM.....Saab?? anyway, I got clued into the Grand Am rack by one of the guys...and so junkyard run the next day, and pulled a fresh rack off a '89 grand am.....with engine removed, like a gift from heaven.....from there it was Fab up my own shit with a welder buddy.....

:drink:

I read a really nice article from "vette427sbc", which I bought a new R&P (92 Grand Am), had to go to the junk yard to get the two brackets, and I purchased everything else new. I have my complete suspension off right now painting the frame and powder coating everything else. (red and black) so I am looking forward to getting it all back soon. In the meantime, I am working on a Street Fighter I am almost done with. I have to stay busy and in my garage so my wife wont think I have time for those honey to do projects!

Interesting idea, but it doesn't seem to solve the issue I found with the Jeep box, and why I'm switching to a rack and pinion - my frame is very solid and non-twisty, and the force on the frame from that box while at a dead stop was actually causing the fenders to move. The stock system, which applies assist force to very different points, did not do that.

Interesting comment, first I hear about that happening, do you have a cross support?? thing that gets me is that with MY rack install, the rack support applies all the forces to the same spot on the frame as the Jeep/Borgeson box would, and I have no issues, nothing I have spotted anyway....:search:
