Freedom may have just taken the first of it's last two punches. The house just passed the "Kill-all-the-old-people-and-provide-substandard-healthcare" bill.
This and Tax and Cap will just about do it.

WASHINGTON — These are some of the changes in the way health insurance would work in the United States if the House bill were to become law:

1. Creates a government-run plan, or "public option," to offer insurance coverage to compete with private sector insurance companies.

2. Sets up health insurance "exchanges," or marketplaces, where consumers can easily compare coverage and rates.

3. Requires nearly everyone to obtain health insurance coverage starting in 2013.

4. Ends blanket exemption for insurers from anti-trust laws.

5. Provides federal financial help for lower and middle income consumers so they can obtain coverage.

6. Bars insurers from denying or limiting coverage because of pre-existing conditions.

7. Bars insurers from imposing lifetime limits on coverage.

8. Expands Medicaid coverage to more people.

9. Imposes a 5.4 percent surcharge on adjusted gross incomes of more than $500,000 for individuals and $1 million for joint filers.

10. Imposes penalties on people and businesses who fail to comply

So that's a sweet summary, what's in the other 999 pages? No one knows...

The result will be increased costs and massive disruptions in the quality of coverage individuals and families rely on today...if you don't believe that you have drank too much kool aid.

Don't forget the $25k fine and year in jail for failing to comply with the healthcare coverage requirement.

The only thing that "might/maybe" save the day will be the Senate. As written, if they pass it, we're screwed.

8. Expands Medicaid coverage to more people.
The only thing in this godawful bill that they actually needed to do to accomplish their stated goal. Everything else is just power/money grab. We're going to pay and pay and pay and pay and pay and pay and pay and pay.....

We already do. My Cobra is $1,500 a month. That's INSANE. BUT, if I hop the fence from down south,, that same care is FREE. WE pay for that in added health care cost.
We give BILLIONS for aid to other countries. Why not take care of our own for a change?
