Another commitment made by what is known as " the GREATEST Generation."
Enjoy this video, and again, PLEASE PASS IT ON to the young people you know.
Pass along interesting " history" that was part of this country. And some
of you might even remember JFK and his part in the war...a movie of his
famous escapade was made into a very popular movie, PT 109.

they were incredible boats used by incredible Men against incredible odds.
my Dad was a Combat Engineer in the Pacific theater then went to europe when Japan surrendered i lost him closing on 3 years ago. they were the greatest generation anything that preserves what these Men did keeps their Memories alive . thanks for posting this.

I did not know they were wood either, but makes sense, in that yacht builders churned them out....also funny to hear that Packard made the engines....before they merged with Studebaker....

My Father was born in March 05, and so too young for first go round, and too old for the second but was going to invade Japan....when Manhattan made that not necessary.....he trained men to shoot at Camp Perry Ohio, my Uncle followed Patton as a civil engineer cleaning up the mess, and being a ATT man, restored .com the ex's Father was in Burma, EE, doing something electronic, for sure....

and to give it all up in the last 15 years.....:surrender::twitch:
