I've been running the Rochester QJ on my ZZ4 for the past couple of years and have now decided to get one of my old 4165 carbs working. I have a newer 6210 and two older 650's. I also have the 6211 which is an 800 cfm model.

After another posting here some time ago and feedback from Lars and other I've decided to go with the 800 cfm 6210.

First step today was to transfer one of the other 650 bases to the 800 carb because the linkage of the 800 was in bad shape and also had considerable wear on the primary shaft. The 650 base looked just like the 800 one so I did the swap.

The 800 would always run rich as in undriveable, so I'm thinking about swapping metering and bowl assys from one of the 650's to the 800. If the metering plates match the 800 body I'll do this tomorrow.

I'll also need to determine jet and power valve sizes for the ZZ4 with the 800 6211. Lars had suggested modifying the vent tubes to eliminate fuel slosh under hard breaking. Because I use the car for track days this will be a must.

Looking forward to some pics. I already did the vent tube extensions. And it cured the problem. Thanks Lars!

My hope was to use the known good metering plates and bowls off one of my other carbs but have since found out they have a small internal transfer tube in between plate and main body. The 800 doesn't use this internal tube but has a cast tube flush with the mating surface and a small hollow pin to center it. Also noticed the area of the old 800 meter pate doesn't seem to show the body making contact to the gasket (bent metering plate?). More to follow as time allows.

No pics yet but decidied to modify the old 6211 body to accept the modern accel pump transfer tube and o-rings. The front meter plate didn't leave an imprint in the gasket so I suspect a bent plate as mentioned above which could lead to gas leaking into the throttle body through one of the throttle body screws which is tapped through.

With the above transfer tube mod I can now use metering plates and bowls from known good carbs. More to follow...

Picked up the tubing to make the vents tubes as Lars recommended and Kid Vette installed

Going with size #64 jets and 4.5 power valve on primary side. What jet and power valve to run on secondary with the ZZ4 motor?

Also ordered so .31 squirters recommend in a previous 6210 thread.

Are the butterflies the same size? if so try same size jets. Also the power valves are based on engine vacuum so I'd use same front and rear. However I think you'd be better off plugging the rear and going up about 8-10 jet sizes to make up for it. Power valves are really only useful to keep the idle circuit from being to rich

It's a spreadbore so not the same size. Lars recommeded using the secondary power valve as the car will be used for road race track days so it's not a full on throttle postion like drag racing.

I had to fix a couple of threads for the bowls and thanks to my local Fasten-all they were able to get a 12/24 thread repair kit from re-coil.
