We took the '79 out for a cruise yesterday, got the thumbs up from a white C4, a wave from a red C5 and a white C5, another wave from a C3 with a widebody kit and another thumbs up from a Harley.

Maybe it was because my GF was driving....:cool:

Good for you!

It's hard to get any acknowledment here in Vegas, maybe cuz they all have the tinted windows up tight with the AC blasting...year round!:bonkers:

My shark sure is recognizable around here, and I always get looks and thumbs up, from 'hood kids through adults my age, mostly happens in any parking lot, sometimes guys in typical trucks on the road, say at a traffic light....

and I think it's crazy because the paint has sucked for years now.....

a freeking old shark gets noticed, but newer/better cars don't....

:waxer::bonkers:

Have you ever seen an ugly girl driving a 'Vette? It can't happen---any girl driving a 'Vette is a automatically a fox, and thus attracts the attention of others...:D

This is how it plays out: You or me driving the car, and a couple people will say, "Hey did you see that cool looking 'Vette?"
A chick driving the car, and everyone says, "Hey dude! Did you see the babe driving that 'Vette? Cool, man!":nuts:;)

Ditto. Of course my c3 stays parked about 3-4 months out of the year for that very reason. But I'm still amazed at how unaware drivers here can be. Last year I'm driving down a road that curves. As I come around this curve, I can see into oncoming traffic (if oncoming traffic didn't turn, they'd drive into me) and I see this c5 coming the other way. I'm right directly about 100 feet in front of him, so I wave.... and I get nothing.
BTW, Steve, you ever meet up with any of the locals? PM me if you want to get together.

Hi Clutchdust,

I've not pursued any of the local scenes because my car is such a POS. I have dear friends from the SCCA days that are still active in their orange 69, The Ma____,

I Should look to the local clubs, thanx for the impetus...:hi:

wave well and truley alive down here, when ever i take my car out,anyone in a classic car waves and even a lot of ordinary cars give the thumbs up too.Was on a main road a year ago, and about 15 students on a drunken pub crawl spotted my car,they were staring at the car, so i slid trans into neutral, and revved the motor,they all started bowing to me and my car.Wif thought it was pretty cool!

:rofl:
