Tim or any one else with a BB still using the stock type oil pressure line fitting.

There is the fitting that goes into the block and then the fittings that go into that which includes 2 pieces that go over the brass(not sure if it is brass) tube. The brass tube goes into the first fitting and then the second fitting (compression fitting?) gets screwed down which compresses the front of that fitting around the tube securing it in place?

Is this correct? Does the tube just "rest" in the first fitting? Or does it need to somehow be pushed in for a tight fit before screwing down the second fitting?:confused2:

The fitting in the block is a 45*- pipe thread into the block and a compression fitting on top- short copper line from that to an angle bracket that bolts to that 1/4 hole behind the header flange. That fitting is just a bulkhead union- compression on both sides, jam nut to secure it into the bracket.

Hope that helps- it's the way Ol' Red was born.
