too bad it didn't have side pipes

To each his own. I personally find those old cars hideous looking. But then again, I've also been told I'm exceptionally odd.

Amazing advertisement. I was impressed with the great deal of technical information about the car. You certainly don't see this as part of a car advertisement today. 24 miles per gallon also was interesting. 72 years later, 24 miles per gallon is pretty liveable.

I smiled as they showed all the vents on the car. The car had one of those traditional 460 air conditioning systems: 4 windows down, and 60 mph for cooling.

Actually, the car purported to have everything you'd want on a car today. That's interesting in that car performance criteria are very similar today. However, they did show a piston (repeat amazing technical detail for an advertisement), and it was small. For a 6 banger, this car would be a little doggy. I didn't buy the hype about the leaf springs all around making for a soft ride. Oh well, it'd be a long time before coil springs, all around, started showing up.

Remember also, that the only people to see this ad would be people who went to the "movies."

If you were teenagers, those big bench seats would work out well for some out of the way dark parking area. No center consoles!!! Probably quite few future US citizens had their genesis on those big front bench seats!
