hello,

I am new to the group and own a 71, small block, 4 speed coupe. It's my summer driver and is in need of some suspension TLC.

It will be a long road and I am now at least learning thanks to this site.

I have a eye towards fabricating new control arms. My friends build parts for a variety of racing applications and have patented a greasable heim joint system. They are happy to make the arms and making a jig to do so is not so bad.

If it works, it might be something worth marketing to help feed my habit.

Should the stock arms be used to make the jigs or, is there a better geometry, changes one should consider to arrive at the ideal set up ?

Interested to hear your thoughts on the topic.

thank you,

Geometry meeds to be changed for better handling, I'm sure someone else will explain about that.
For fabricating control arms, these guys done that and made a cool jig for it.

Welding and materials used has to be top notch for this though.

Therea a couples of vid about the arms but also a couples of cool fabrication vid too.

If you are planning on making your own cross shafts, it might help with camber gain by lowering the position of the shaft.
