The Lakewood pics at the beginning look just like the Lakewood I remember in the 70's.

I first came to LA in 1963. Brought back a lot of memories. Surprised to see the Helms bakery truck.

I think relative to the rest of the world, the US was a very wealthy country in those days. Look at all the people driving collectable automobiles!!! I want that red Studebaker in the first photo!

Many pix of various sites from WW2 comparing Germany>Japan and America at end of WW2 vs sometime recently......


and so to compare those same shots with today from same positions/angles....


the results will NOT be pretty, I BET on that.....
