I hear a lot of these 'Vortec heads' from junkyards or maybe over the counter....

so they apparently fit the olde tyme chebby 350 engine, so I have a '89 roller block, with D port #113 heads on there now...

just what configurations are these in, and what bolt patterns, and what do the possible bring to the table making them worth the switch???

are they aluminum?? I hear only iron, like off a pickup....

what are the valve sizes? what are the flow rates???

will they fit up with a stock LT1 intake manifold....I have a modded up LT1 on my L98 heads now,

is the bolt pattern/angle the same?? how about the flange angle??

In all the threads mentioning these heads I have never spotted anything definitive about them..like the above questions....

Mike, thanks for the link.....I post it here, the very first page seems to cover it all pretty good....

so it seem from the short form, since there is no AFFORDABLE DPFI intake for the Vortec heads so far, and the factory truck rating was only 255 hp on 350 ci....and they are cast iron....which I find strange....I feel that giving up on the #1134 L98 aluminum heads for 100 lbs weight gain, and then giving up on the DPFI setup, I would loose as much as I stand to gain....

which was my feelings from what little I have read in snippets of threads/posts/commets over the years....

so to stay away from another blind alley, for ME that is....
