WC car

I was asked to post some more info on my WC car I am building. It bought this car a light wreck, it was wrecked when it was new and it was not bad, but bad enough the customer wanted the car totaled and get a new one. I wish I had pictures of the car when I first purchased it, but I think I had it stripped down in a matter of days and did not think to take pictures of it. It started life as a 06 Z51 that was red with tan interior and a 6 speed. It had just over 3k on it when it was totaled.
Once the car was stripped I sent it out to the frame shop which is where my pictures start. It was straightened and then the build started. It took a long time to get under way with the build. I spent 6 months deciding if I was going to completely cut the windshield frame and b pillar off or cage around them. I will let the pictures tell the story.

There is a picture of my son in the car, according to him he is the owner. This picture was when the body was bolted on after getting the car back from Chicago for the cage work. He is super excited about it.

Yes, it works great, but it says "Ford Racing" on it. It is the factory Sparco wheel of a GT500R. It was the only one I could find that had the right diameter and the three bolt pattern in it.

who did the cage?

A buddy of mine up in Chicago, there shop name is Performance AFX.
The cage is a 1 3/4 DOM .120 wall to meet the new SCCA specs. I might add the cage looks better in person, eventhough it looks good in the pictures.

Here is one of my son thinking he is backing the car in the trailer. He has the distinction according to him as being the first person to drive it. In that he is 6 I will play along with it and let him have it.

It is, but that was the plan from the beginning. I will probably sell it when it is done, I have a third child that is supposed to be here the end of this month and I don't have as much time for it as I thought I would.
