What do you think about these bushings ?

I've never replaced these but mine are tight and don't move. I read that you need a puller to get these out so I think the ones you've got there are too loose.

New bushings? With the quality of most repro parts (my poly strut rod bushings for example) this poor fit doesn't surprise me. I believe most vendors sell the same made in China crap and there are probably not many good used bushings out there.....

Did you consider using 2K epoxy (like 3M 8115) to glue the bushings into the crossmember ? The hardened epoxy will act like a sleeve around the bushing.... bolt the crossmember to the frame while the epoxy hardens, that will locate the bushings properly.

Actually i did, but i would rather get correct sized bushings. The info on the forums is mostly that they installed parts that did fit. I wonder what is wrong with mine. Maybe there are 2 sizes.

I was lucky that my old bushings were in good shape ....But now reading up on solid mounting that sucker that raises up the Differential 1/2 inch to get the optimal 1/2 shaft angle . My worry now is diff. yokes interference with the body. Sorry No hijack :stirpot:

I'm change the rear end gear on my car. So i took the diff out. I knew that these were always loose, and they kept bothering me.

What do you guys think ?

These are new and came from Corvette Accessoires of America.

Who sells good ones ?

Did they have tabs to bend over to hold them in place? I replaced those on my 73 and had to bend the tabs straight to beat the old ones out.

Yes, seen the fit, they are only held in place by the tabs now. There is absolutely no interference fit.

I mailed some of the vendors for dimensions on these :
-doc doesn't seem to stock these any more due to obamanomics
-paragon gave me a dimension which is about 1 inch to big :suicide:
-zip still needs to answer

:sos:

Give Brian a call at Bairs that's where I got mine and they had to go in the freezer for a while before I tried to install them

More cheaply made junk parts. Probably made in China

Zip replied with the dimension and they are undersize. Same size as the ones i've got in there now.

Paragon seems to have the right size.

Who's Blairs ?
