I just want to make sure no info can be recovered from them, so what needs to be destroyed?

The pry out the silver disc inside the aluminum cover shield plate, and cut with tin snips toss the pieces in different trash cans.....

OR do a old fashioned bulk tape eraser like I have for old recording tapes, as in reel to reel.....I can guarantee the .gov can't read that drive then with either approach....
