Production break, that is. I see lots of parts catalog listings for 77(E) and 77(L). I'm thinking that's (E)arly and (L)ate. What's the dividing line between them? Not really wanting to order anything and find out that it's for an early production car and I needed that part for a late production.

It's not an absolute dividing line, it's gradual thruout a portion of the production as parts are used up and new phased in.

Mine early, has an orange engine and the alarm lock on the driver fender.

Quite a few other changes, but can't remember them right now.

Easiest way to check would be indeed whether there is a lock on the fender but it's not set in stone the changes were gradual, not all at the same time. Another change is the t top weatherstripping.

The alarm switch is in the drivers' door lock. From that, I'd assume late production. What's the difference on the weatherstrip?

Mine's got the alarm lock in the fender (early), 1976 interior light switches in the doors and late T-top weatherstrip. Go figure?

production break,...hum, yeah just about every production vette I've seen broke!!!!!!!

AFTER 30+ years of beating, ya think???
