I'm baaaaack...

Hi Guys, sorry to have got you worried. I'm still in Stupidsville but nothing to really worry about where I am. I haven't moved compounds, just had some shit fall around me.

My computer went cat5 a few weeks ago then when I got that sorted out and finally went to get back online, the ISP I was with, took a nose dive. I finally binned them and went to a better ISP but that took some time to have installed. Once I was back online, the site was again blocked by the Saudi's so I had to mess around and get hold of a proxy server to go through their firewall. Seems to be ok now though.

Apart from that, I've been as busy as a one legged guy in an arse kicking competition.

We held an ANZAC Day function here last weekend (to commemorate Australian and New Zealand war dead etc) and after we held a Dawn Service, we set up a stage and had live music playing all day. We sell tickets and "refreshments" etc to raise money which we then donate to the RSL (Returned Serviceman's League) or Legacy (a group that helps war widows or returned wounded/disabled soldiers and their families). Because of that, our band was practicing like mad to be spot on for the day, plus I've joined a second band and was practicing with them like crazy for the same reason. We've also been practicing like mad for a gig we have coming up in Bahrain - in a REAL bar! Woohoo, finally get to play the "big smoke", lol.

Accordingly, I have done sweet FA on The BOSS and I won't really have time to do anything for a few more weeks as our band are "touring" the UK in June - we only have one gig and that's for the lead guitarist's daughter's wedding! But, hey, it's a start.

I'm still ready to gut the interior but it's a pain to even pop out for a few minutes and do some spannering as I have The BOSS inside that zeppelin, which takes some time to open and close again when I'm finished. I have to leave it in there as the front screen's out and if the car's not covered, it will become a cattery overnight and this would make me very cross!

Once we get back from the wedding in June, it will be full steam ahead - luckily, just in time for summer! I reckon it should only take me a weekend to rip everything out and then if the floor pan's ok, put the sound deadener shit in, new carpet, new dash and harness etc. I'm assuming it'll take longer than a weekend to put it all back together though :D

Anyway, that's where I'm at. Again, I'm sorry to have worried anybody, it sort of slipped my mind and until Douglas messaged me on facebook, I didn't realize how much time had slipped by since my last visit here.

The one redeeming feature of all the trouble in this part of the world is that the Saudi King, in trying to head off trouble here, decided to give all government employees a one-off bonus of two month's pay and encouraged the private sector to follow suit - which my company and the mob Christine works for ultimately did. Long live the king :thumbs::thumbs:

Good to see you are ok and keeping busy! The interior is not too bad to rip out, but they put all kinds of glue under the carpet that you'll have to scrape off. My wiring was a bit choppy in areas so I replace it. Ran new wiring for the electric antenna rear speakers, bass, etc. new stereo while I had it clean.

I also kept the old rotted carpet and used it as kind of a template to make sure all the new pieces were going in properly.
