Hey guys sorry if this is in the wrong place but did not know where else to put it. I have used simple green and purple power and neither gets it off. It looks good and shiny till it dries and then the whole motor and engine bay has the chalky stuff still on it. I was running straight water but with some water wetter in it when my alternator rubbed a whole in the hose. Is it the WW that I am seeing? How do I clean this mess???

Thanks
Wade

Try WD40 and see if it comes back. Aluminium Oxide is white-ish and a PITA to get off.

You might try Bleachy White (white wall cleaner). I have used this to clean engine bays and it usually works really well. I would try a small area, spray it on and let it sit a few minutes and then brush it in and hose it off.

Thanks for the input. I actually took TT's advice and sprayed everything with WD40. I let it sit over night then cleaned again with simple green. This worked wonders!!

Thanks
