Why I love winter.

I not seen that for some 16 years now....don't miss anything at ALL....

I spent 18 years growing up in Ohio. Got enough snow and ice to last the rest of my life. Wouldn't think of going skiing. The winters were worse in Ohio than a lot of other places. Winter days were overcast and when it snowed the snow could just lay on the ground for days and become dirty. At least in Colorado (Denver), when it snows, the next day can be sunny, and the snow quickly evaporates at the high altitude. Also, on a sunny windless day in Colorado, you can walk in shirtsleeves comfortably with snow on the ground. Not so in overcast Ohio.

I guess in Montreal we can consider ourselves lucky.
Sure it's cold and it snows quite a lot in winter, but we get a lot of clear blue sky days too.

All I remember of my 53 years in Maryland, outside DC,....was the cold WET gray skies of a windy winter, seemed the humidity was always 90%+ even if the temps were below freezing.....

and summer was no better, always 90%+ humidity, raining, cloudy and NO WIND....set there in the swamp and DIE.....went boating on the Chesapeake Bay to avoid the misery, for year/decades.....

Walk outside and break out in a sweat after 30 seconds.....

I don't have a real problem with winter as long as the temperature is NEVER below 70*. Other than that, it sucks.

Just bought a Ariens track drive snow blower, got delivered yesterday, too cold outside for me to assemble it tho.

I live just outside of Fort Worth, TX... normally our winters are laughable. This stupid ice storm has made everything fubar around here, though. There is literally six inches of solid ice in my yard. The roads are awful.. they're just not equipped to do anything when we get ice or snow. I can't wait to move back to Colorado just because they plow up there. Though my lungs and skin are going to hate going from 500' to 8800' in elevation.

 It's been 80+ all week for highs....maybe as lo a 60f overnight.....

Just talked to my son up in Nevada City Ca. just off the border near RENO,.....they got snow 9" deep and it's just melting, slightly.....

his fiance' loves it, ME..not so much, just the thought...:surrender:
