Will a C4 "c" beam fit in a 82 transmission tunnel?

Is there enough too, for this or perhaps a more compact design? Yes I know the rear frame brace where the pinion mount is would have to be cut.
 
Jeff, why do you keep asking here? You do know you're pretty much charting new territory, don't you?
On the plus side, when you get done, you'll have enough information to write a book.
 
it probably will not with the minimal clearance the u joints have in stock conf.

with the engine offset to passenger side I kinda figured it would be a issue. What about if the "c" beam was made to fit on the opposite side or a custom one like the torque arms you have used on f-bodies.

Because my car isn't being done like others. Most c4 suspension conversions use remote differential pinion mount and I don't want that. I want my suspension to be setup just like a c4. Don't worry though you will have other threads to responde too and one is my upcoming abs & airbag in a 82.
