how about $85.00 plus tax & shipping for a wheel bearing seal for a Japanese made Massey-Ferguson compact diesel tractor? and I`m not talking about a huge seal, fits a 1.164 shaft and a 2.35 bore....

I have to say that it has been a good many years since I serviced a tractor but when did MF star making tractors in Japan?:amazed: Are these just Kubota clones? To be fair though, MF parts were always expensive too, though $85 for that part is a tich rediculous.

I bought the tractor brand new in 1987...it`s a MF 2 wheel drive 1010 "compact" with a hydro trans. When I bought it the domestic manufacturers didn`t have compact diesels so (like John Deere who painted Yanmars or Kubotas green) Massey painted Japanese tractors red...the key says Yashin Suki. I found an almost similar seal from SKF via NAPA for $3, the only difference is the width. I`m going to assume the seal is extra special (maybe) to keep ice, snow, water out of the bearings but all my tractor does is cut grass, in fact the ONLY problems I ever had with it was with the American made 54" mower deck.

I went to a farm/industrial equipment trade show in the midwest in the early 70's. Was amazed at all the orientals with not 1, but 3 or 4 expensive slr 35mm cameras around their necks. They weren't taking general pics, a lot of details with a measuring tape for reference. That's how I learned to do it
This was when Kabota etc were new names.
Cat got copied a lot, everything did.
