C2 Backspacing

I know that this subject has been beaten to death but I need to know if I can mount wheels with 4.75" backspace on a '65. This is the only way I can see to mount 8" wide rims with stock fender lips. I have 4.5's [7" wide] on now. Has anyone actually mounted 4.75 b.s. on a mid year? Thanks, Frank

I may know for sure sometime soon, a buddy of mine is going to try his Western wheels on his 63, I think they are 4.75" BS Will let you know if they are.

Good to know, I'll let my buddy know it fits then, he can go ahead and buy a 2nd set of western rims without having to test fit then

Yes, these should help. 5" backspace on the rear I'm told. 4" on the front. Looks good to me.
