Hello, excuse me :surrender:, I do not speak English, I go through a translator, be gentle with me.

I'll try to help Punch as I already read his question on a french forum.

he has an issue with his prothane a-arm bushings.
the inner bushing tube is loose on the shaft and he think his shafts might need to be replaced.

from what I remember, my Energy Suspension where tight on the shafts.

I don't have any a-arm shaft to measure, but I'm sure anyone can help him.
from his last picture, we can see his shaft is slightly under 19 millimeter (3/4")

On the STOCK rubber bushings and the poly urethane I have had on several cars, upper and lower arms, the ends of the INNER steel sleever were serrated/saw tooth on the ends, to bite into the shaft and prevent it twisting like a bearing on the shaft....letting the rubber/plastic do that....

so there is a bit of clearance in there and yes, sometimes rust, all I have ever done is clean up the rust, and bolt it all back together correctly....

that is why that end cap holding the bushing needs be bolted tightly with locktite RED on it....don't wanna EVER see it come loose....

:amazed:;)

Translation :

I'm not completly sure what the problem is. However, i want to say that there is some clearance between the iron sleeve and the axle. This is necessaire because with this bushing, everything turns over the axle.

fafaaahh fafafa ffafafafaaahh et lalalalaaa papalalapapafafafamamamamama :D

my French doesn't reach further than "La biere est dans le frigidaire"

So what's the diameter of the shaft supposed to be? Anybody has one to measure ??

Is only the Poly bushing loose on the shaft? Do you still have the old stock one to compare ?

Can somebody translate this to French? La biere est dans le frigidaire at my house too ... and c'est tout ... je ne parle pas francais....

I was responding to Mybad79. He was asking,

"can somebody translate this to French?"

Can somebody translate the above to understandable French ? Trying to find out if the shaft is worn or the new poly bushings are too large....

the online translator says:
