Anyone know anything about this manifold?

between the people I know and what I have read about him I would suggest you stay away from David Crane.....I do.
as to a GM licensed repop parts a very wise doctor once told me "GM licensed only means a license fee was paid. It has nothing to do with anything regarding quality, accuracy or country of origin. GM resto license scam is merely a marketing badge. Pay the fee and get the tag"

Well Mr. Crane has a shitload (as in 100% out of 1380 transactions) of positive reviews on E-Bay, so he has that going for him. And I have the E-Bay buyer protection plan, so I am covered there too.

Mr.Kiss: "same guys doing tri power repop manifolds for $2300"

Actually, just a tad more than $2300. As in $2645. Considering the price of an original tri-power, that's probably a bargain, considering it doesn't have steel fittings that are rusted onto it or corrosion or port matching or stripped threads or all the other problems associated with a used manifold.

Actually, there are more than a few sellers of these new-old manifolds. Pro Team Corvette is selling them too.

If the whole setup wasn't so dang expensive, I wouldn't mind having it on my car. I still don't see what the big deal is about these parts being repos. They aren't being represented as being original. And with the price of original stuff skyrocketing and the quality plumetting, I see these as a good buy. Of course, I am more interested in performance and actually DRIVING my Vette (on the track), as opposed to rolling it out at car shows so that each part can be inspected for authenticity. :rofl:

I like this thread for the nostalgia factor alone, but lets face facts, all these older parts repro concepts are not long for the world, cause it's us olde phucks that MAYBE recognize them for what they are, that MAYBE have the money to toss after childhood dreams, that would fork over 2500 bux for one....

which is fine by me, but then again, reality check is....I"d rather DRIVE my damn car often as possible....or at least reasonable, top down, sunshine....

hell of a difference from shows, and racing...

Sat night, cruise night, I just maybe go this evening....

:yahoo::idea:

i like repos and have anothing against them. and i have nothing against other countrys making stuff we buy and lots of time the quality is pretty good. my only point is that in a global economy when you can make something cheaper then the other guy and you make money off of it if you should honor copyright and license laws. just a way to spread the love around...

It's okay...but...

#1 it has STEEL fittings that are no doubt corroded where you can't remove them. For the life of me I can't figure why guys use steel fittings on aluminum manifolds. Once they corrode, and they ALL corrode, forgetabout ever removing them. You have to drill them out. And the threads are toast. Brass is ALWAYS the way to go.

#2 The end of the bid is 8 days away and it is already at $101. It will probably go higher.

I'll pass. I have a brand new manifold that hasn't been goofed up by some moron. :)

Welllll....I would bet these repos come from China. And China is keeping our country alive with all the loans we keep getting from them. Maybe Obama cut a deal, since he now owns GM? Bring in the repos and no royalties to Obama Motors. :rofl:
