What would you choose?
I know we all love our Corvettes but they lack a back seat which makes it hard to get the kids and/or the groceries.
I was looking at the Camaro's and find the price spread and options rather appealing. I checked out the Challenger and thought that 60K was too much for the HP package.
Fords - well I buy Ford trucks but I never was into 'em much.
Another deciding factor for me - I prefer a convertible.
Your thoughts?

I choose OTHER, the Mustangs are like belly buttons they are everywhere, the new camaro and challenger don't do much for me.Guess if i had the money to spend i would buy me a new Diesel p/u truck

I voted Camaro. I like the design and I like the price. I was at our local Chevy dealership when they got their first Camaro - $23 for the base V6 and $35 for the Z28 is at least "somewhat" reasonable.... compared to $45+ for the Challenger... well, that's sticker price anyways.... cars only sell for what buyers pay....

I really like the Charger but IMO it's got the wrong name... it's more like a Intrepid with a somewhat retro design.... lol.. very nice car but nothing like a Charger....LOOL

Challenger, no contest!!

Karsten, an intrepid? I think you have it backwards:
The Challenger is not the 4 dr!!!' Although I really liked the charger daytonas.

I had a few Chargers (rentals), they are great cars to drive and the design is ok but they don't look anything like the old Charger. IMO it's a nice 4door car but a Charger ?

The Challenger design is a lot closer to the old model:

I consider vehicles today to be totally and completely overpriced....

so for about 1/2 that amount an earlier REAL hotrod can be obtained and modernized, and so far we don't have the .gov looking under the hoods....

much less up our pipes....:bump:

I like the new Dodge Ram series, But now everyone has copied the front end. In saying, I can't can't keep up with ""what is what"??? Most car's look like a box, even Honda makes a box with four wheels.

I like the Challenger and Camaro from a looks standpoint. Never checked prices, but 60k...wow.

Mustangs have decent looks, but around here they are like mosquitoes ......pesky little bastards are all over the place.

I thought i'd let you know the Mustang is essentially a 2 seater. I wouldn't even put a kid back there. I guess a child seat would work. No room for legs between the seats. We'll use the back seat to pack the wife's suticases full of shoes on a long trip.

The 05-09 stang actually looks retro. The 2010 stang, camaro, challenger look too modern for me.

One of the major car mags did a comparison and the mustang wasn't that far behind in acceleration because it's much lighter, ie. 3600 pounds vs 4000 for the camaro. The 2011 stang will have a 5.0 4 valve dual overhead cam, so it may be the one on top at least for a bit.

The mustang is very commonplace but it also has huge support for aftermarket parts. You can bolt a roots blower on in a days work without even changing the hood so you get a nice sleeper look. You're going to see tons of Challengers and Camaros in a few years too.

As far as restoring an old car instead, i think we just get tired of all the wrenching on these old vettes and just want something we can jump in anytime and drive without worry.

If you want a convertible, right now the mustang is the only choice.

Over the decades, ALL my cars/hotrods have been to that affect, the longest this vette has been down was 6 months winter 01-02 when tons of mods were done...and not been THAT long except for MONEY and jobs....
they were all daily drivers, and I build with that in mind....

I have exactly the same delema..... I suppose the new Camaro would be a real good car but I don't really like it. I like the Mustang GT, good cars, perform great, lots of aftermarket stuff but they are just too small inside. My wife has a '95 GT which I like a lot except for the interior room. I absloutely love the new Challenger. Inside room seems ok but coming from the auto industry I know that Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth has always had shitty electrical systems - you just learn to live with your check engine light on.
The Challenger can be had as the SRT with the Big Engine but can also be equipped with the regular hemi head V8 which in my mind kinda reminds me of a 340ci car. Then of course the V6 which is not an option for me.

Mustang for me--Camaro for Darlene.:)

WE not so wealthy, old '72 vette for me for 15 years now, and wife has a '91 Miata, which in lots of ways is more fun to drive than the vette....THAT little POS can slash a corner pretty good, even with ME driving....

:smash::surrender:

I really like my Corvette but I like to have a spirited daily driver too. As a realtor I should have a sedan but I'm flexable. I have been looking at whats out there and here's a few that I think are good choices...
The '03-'04 Mecury Marauder. 4.6l Cobra engine. All aluminum, 32 valve, High compression, police tune, Premium fuel only engine. 3.55 gears, High stall converter, Posi, Sport suspension, dual exhaust, 18" Forged wheels, buckets, consol, tach, autometer gauges, real nice leather int. It's cool. There's lots of low milers around for under 20k.
A step down and maybe more realistic is the Crown Victoria 'Sport'. Standard 4.6l engine, police tune, high stall converter, 3.23 gears, no posi, sport suspension, Dual exhaust, 17" sport wheels, same buckets, consol, interior, tach.
If a guy really wants to perform there's the Cadilac CTS-V. Real hi tech. 6.0l Corvette engine, can be had with a 6 speed manual.
I like these car because they have a roomy interior, they are rear wheel drive and have a strong v8 that gets real good fuel mileage. Because they are conventional they are economical to maintain.
I chose the Marauder...... Makes a guy wanna get going in the morning :-)

i got passed by an orange camaro in my rental mustang on Monday. I don't like the rear end. It looks somehow kind of ricey. The new mustang does as well with the high rise black plastic skirt wrapping the rear end.

Now correct me if I'm wrong. I was told by more than one source the Marauder had a 117 mph limiter.

If you get one, I have the DVD that FORD put out for a sales promotion. Great stuff on past old Marauders vs New Marauder.

I'm not married to it...........:quote:
