Weird outfit they have. You order stuff, don't even get a confirmation email..no nothing. Everything listed, now I log in and all of a sudden EVERYTHING is backordered. WTF? This can't be real.

Didn't Brutal64 run the tech stuff there?

Yes, he DID. Laid off last year, and the whole staff was replaced by "cheaper" rookie kids. Nice, huh?

Same shit on the other end of the continent....Linda's family members fighting the messican invasion on the home maintenance/remodeling end of stuff....

but that cuts both ways too, most of them screw up a jobsite SO bad the 'investor' has to hire US guys to fix it afterwards....not realizing the whole picture....i'ts funny to watch...

All housing out here is "hispanic" now. Of course, the savings are passed on to the buyer.;):rofl::rofl:

Sounds like some of the big catalog houses. They stock the break rooms with all the car mags they can so the rookies will sound like they know something when the unsuspecting customer asks a tech question. After all these years, it's still "buyer beware". :bomb:

Funny, I was just going to pitch the same bitch about OPG (Original Parts Group). I ordered a full front end rebuild kit for my Skylark and half of it was back ordered. I ended up returning the back ordered stuff after 2 weeks. I read the fine print about returns too - you ship it back at your own expense and they hit you with a 20% restocking fee.

The upside is I found a reputable supplier for quality parts on e-bay. I found a Metro brand weather strip kit for about $150.00 less and a McQuay-Norris front end kit for $350.00 less than the catalog supplier.
The name of the e-bay supplier is adealsap and they are located in Maryland, shipping is super fast - 2-3 days and it is on my door step.

If they don't respond soon or get that stuff sorted I'm going to cancel, this is beyond ridiculous. I remember from about 5 years ago, I bought all the interior stuff for my truck from them incl carpets and everything...had it in a matter of days.

Okay, so in case I cancel, anyone got a good source for 2nd gen firebird/trans am parts?

I take it OPG = the suck too? F'n hell....what's the world coming to when you can't even buy US car parts in the US, if I wanted chow chit I'd buy a prius

Only a couple of things (the pull strap covers are for an 83 C10 truck)

20076000 78-80 Arm Rst Pad Carmn Red-rh
20076001 78-80 Arm Rst Pad-carmn Red-lh
911582 70-81 Std Rear View Mirror
*r5002 69-81 Pedal Pad Kit-auto-drum
14811 81-91 Door Pull Strap Cover
Pp830 Color Coat Spray Z38 Carmine
499724 77-81 Fb Front End Crest Emblm

Can you imagine all that is on backorder?

On a similar note, how about Summit. I've always been pleased with them and still shop with them (heavily LOL) but I found out something so retarded it's not even funny. I always make sure that the stuff that I order has a shp date of either today or in a couple of days. Always when I have checked out and check back to see the order status a bunch of stuff is on backorder suddenly. Happened twice last month again so I got fed up. I called them asking what it was about. I figured it must be something with stuff being out of stock and the overseas getting in the back of the line. It's even MORE stupid than that. Apparently when a US customer logs in they check the zip to see which warehouse is closest by and that one is used for inventory listings. With international customers they always shop @ the ohio one but the listing is composed of the inventory of ALL warehouses. When I suggested that the software automatically select Ohio if a non US zip is entered or another country (that info is in the account, they know where to send the stuff after all) there was a deafening silence and I swear I could hear the light go on there... couldn't they have thought of that? I mean..they got this snazzy website w/ 360deg views and all...but something that simply... over their heads.

We are all crazy, that's what we're told

Ya know, these companies would have us believing we are crazy or unreasonable when we ask for our money back. They obviously have their asses covered coming and going as far as return shipping and restocking fees are concerned. We - the consumers - end up having to pay over and over again for poor workmanship and/or service. It is really a shame, this mentality has corrupted what was once a strong and proud country. Now we reward failure, executives get big bonuses while their companies fail, just like these suppliers get 20% on returns plus ungodly mark-ups on inferior merchandise.
No government agencies want to be bothered enforcing the laws to protect the consumers. The only time the government steps in is if the Gov't. believes they are not getting their share of the pie, then they will enforce the laws, otherwise we are all screwed.:cussing:
Sorry for the rant but all the shitty customer service has had me in fits for several weeks now.

Afterthought....

Classic Industries and OPG will be run in to the ground. Just before they crash and burn the owners will sell to some unsuspecting buyers. The buyers will then find out that all of their suppliers are waiting to be paid for past shipments and that said suppliers will not sell/ship any new products until the past debts are satisfied. This will be just the tip of the iceberg as many other unpaid debts will continue to surface until what were once good company names are trashed and rendered worthless. The buyers will lose their savings, their health and their dreams as well as their sanity.
The sellers will laugh and do it all over again to someone else.
This is reality in AMERICA. Get used to it.

I think thats whats known as on the job training??

TT, Guys, there is a joint called Potomac Pontiac in the Md, burbs of DC, the owner used to be a fellow named Ron Johnson, an OLD friend of mine from long long ago, and far far away.....he lived in a house not far from me, and used to be a gas station mechanic down the street....

I going to call him, I just did a search and sure enough he has a very small one page web site, that says call.....

He was a big help in getting many old and NLA Pontiac parts, he used to buy and dismantle all sorts of Pontiacs, I THINK he maybe split off and started doing other parts.....maybe....he does have Firebird and Goat parts still.....

but one of the main suppliers back then was YEAR ONE....they are a HUGE outfit and supplied most all of the old muscle car/f body parts years ago....

but it's been 15 years since I have done much on that front, the Goat I had having been finished for years before I got my '72 vette.....

I just called, and RON is on the answering machine, it's 915 here, and so his hours are from 11am-7pm, but it's his voice on the phone, and I recognize the number, VERY strange....at one point Ron had a partnership with another guy, but I think they had a falling out fairly quickly...

if anyone calls mention my name and he will double the price, I"m sure....

Strangely similar to what happened to me here in OP Florida back in June '98, but the edge of violence was pretty close, and I"m just waiting my time, there are two guys that are going to pay up, but not in the way they think....
