Corvette Vintage Racing, Taste of Litchfield, Goshen County Fair
Limerock CT 28th Vintage Race Car Festival Thursday-Monday usually 10 or so 1963-1982 era vintage race Corvettes. Gentlemen start your engines. (I also cannot wait to see those Morgan 3 wheel racers again.) Jim Glass always has a few neat Vette’s with his friends. I still kick myself for not getting one he had for sale. Dumb me, I rationalized, you have no garage space left, but now realize I could have traded.
Taste of Litchfield Hills CT 25th Food & Wine festival is now held right at the Limerock track to sample the area gastronomic delicacies besides the usual dogs & burgers. Bon Appetite. (sad: the Wandering Moose Cafe at the Cornwall covered bridge is not attending). Lots of Zagat rated feed bags in this area. All high priced, small portioned, but oh so Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Plus five small vinyards in these hills with their grape juice. (but I’m not driving ☺)
Goshen CT Fair – 116 Old Middle Street, Goshen, CT for your GPS Friday to Sunday (only 16 miles from the track. take rt. 7 south, left on rt. 4, right on rt. 63) tractor pulls, oxen pulls, kids tractor pulls, horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, baking, pies, needlework, gardening all good American style faire, food, fun & rides. No bling. I really enjoy the petting zoo.
I’m stoked: old Vettes, good food & vino plus the farmer’s daughter’s. Them country girls are so sweet.
It’s a hot, noisy, dirty job but somebody’s gotta do it.
Here, sooey, sooey, sooey, pig, pig, pig. ☺
