Dogs

That's Jester, both he and Samson are papered English Mastiffs.Jester(brindle)Samson(Apricot)
Good looking pooches. What do they weigh? My neighbour's Boerbal drools like a shock therapy patient :shocking:
Thanks,Samson is still growing,And Jester is just starting to fill out.I keep them active for mastiffs but they went @130+lbs last time we checked. It's not uncommon for an English mastiff to go 220+.Samson will probably
outweigh Jester when he is finnished.I predict them to go 160lbs and 175lbs give or take.I will not let them get too big as it is hard on the joints. They are Gentle Giants and do not require a lot of room as many would think. They are house dogs and just need a little exercize and a whole lot of attention.Great with kids and other pets.(Hard on lawn mowers!);)

Damn big critters. Giganterus next door to us is still a pup and chews anything not put out of his way - shoes, tv/stereo remotes, bass guitar, garden hose reel etc etc. He's a gentle giant though and already quite obedient and very loyal.

A dog in Saudi Arabia? I would have thought they would be banned.
No, there's quite a few dogs out here. Some breeds are banned, like Bull Terriers, Dobermans etc as they are "dangerous dogs" but they can be brought out as guard dogs. Other breeds are brought in as pets and there's some good pet shops that sell pure breeds and mutts in Bahrain. There's also a wild "Bondoo" dog which some people have as pets too...

This past Sunday morning we had to put our Doxie Haylee to sleep. She had a good life of 13+ years. If there was a "Dog Lover Of The Year Award" My wife Elizabeth deserves it. Haylee lost the use of her rear legs years ago and Beth took care of her for years with that condition. Haylee also had a bad heart and she started getting worst this past weekend with coughing and choking and had to be put to sleep. I'm sure I speak for almost everyone when I say our Dogs are not pets......they're Family

RIP Haylee Girl

Sorry for your loss Douglas and you're right they're not pets, they're slightly hairier members of the family.

Wow,,,Sorry to hear that.We went through that a few years back with a 16yr old malamute. We took care of him till he was ready to quit.I cried like a baby.It was like losing a kid.

Sorry about your family loss, they are family.... Take care of yourself and your wife. Consider rescueing another family member.

I'm sorry for your loss. Haylee looks like a sweetheart. Trust me when I say I understand your grief.
Haylee looks like a miniature version of my dog DeeDee (I couldn't figure out what to name this stray puppy when she showed up at my house years ago and wouldn't go away. Later on, when the vet asked her name, I didn't have an answer right away, as all I had referred to her was that "damn dog" everytime I was tripping over her or stepping in a pile of puppy shit. I was blank for a moment in front of the vet, and then I just blurted out "DeeDee".)
I had DeeDee for twelve years. She was an absolute wonderful dog. She's been gone for four years now, and I still get a lump in my throat and teary eyed thinking about her.

Dear Vette Mod Family...... it's me Elizabeth ( Dougs Wife )

I want to thank you all so much for your kind thoughts and words in this sad time. It is appreciated and I know that all of you are major Dog Lovers too!

I know that some here have lost their beloved pets during their lifetime, and I offer my condolences - to all - that have had to put a Dog down and the Heartache that you endured.

Someone mentioned rescuing another Dog from the shelter, but Doug and I still have 2 dogs that we adopted from the Shelter. As time goes on I will probably get another Dog, but for now we will be busy with the other 2 Dogs.

Thank you again to the Vette Mod Family

Hey Elizabeth, it's just good to know others appreciate the need to adopt rescued dogs.

VetteMod is a wonderful group of people who know from personal experience how much it hurts to lose a pet :thumbs::thumbs:

I know the feeling and I too am sorry for your loss. When it's time, there's nothing that fills the hole left in your heart like a puppy....

Seems I am a cat man, not by any huge desire, just that for some reason cats are attracted to me....shuddup with the comments guys....

but Linda and I have traded favors, she brought her old Chiwawa into the marriage, the dawg passed on after ~3 years....so as usual I called her daughter about what to get Linda for Xmas....another Chiwawa....

so it was done....Daughter walked in Christmas AM with that puppy and Linda just melted in tears of joy....so we have a ~13 lbs black Teacup/Applehead Chiwawa now...about 4 years old...

In the China cat food poison shit, I really think our cat PO died as a result...healthy enough cat...gone in a week...

I was all long faced, so Linda comes up with two kittens the same time as the Chiwawa appeared....so on the shutterfly site there is a pix of 3 of them...then there is Tiney cat....

her son accidently hit the brand new kitten with a weed wacker...not a day old, so nurse Linda and he patched him up, and he was about 4-5 months old and joined the crew here....so 3 cats and a disagreeable Chiwawa that thinks it's the cat's mommy....

:bonkers::oh::flash:
