Flat spotting. I bought my Cooper Cobra GT's in 2021. After much investigation I have determined that the tires are out of round and are the most likely source of the harsh ride and vibrations I am experiencing. Your thoughts? I only drive the car about 1500 miles per year.

Glad you solved it. As a kid, drove some big trucks and you had to run for a while and get some heat in the tires. Then it would go away.

Search “cooper cobras.flat spotting” lots of results. Some guys say to get heat in them.

Interesting. I have a Tahoe that I only drive maybe 1500 miles a year. The other day I noticed a vibration at about 32MPH. I thought I lost a wheel weight but maybe that's it.

Do you get a vibration at all speeds or does it peak at speed?

a few years ago I replaced the original tires on my 99 with the same exact tires - now discontinued. Anyhow this is the least driven Corvette in my garage - it also experienced that flat spot thump - but I don't drive it much - so thump it. It did go away after some miles IIRC. These C5 era models are near worthless, I can't get half of what it cost.

Can you shave the tires to eliminate the flat spots?
Just somethig to do for a test.
Is this the source of your shake-rattle-etc.?

Cheers - Jim
