Looks good! Original stock tires were about 27 3/8". I think you need to maintain that same tire diameter when going to larger wheels to fill out the wheel wells.TTII I am leaning towards the 17 with a little more sidewall...don't like the 18 thin rubberband look...as TT calls them.
What profile would you get, 50? The 17's on the front of my car are 45's and the profile height is exactly the same for the 18's on the back with 40's
The picture with the 16" rallys the tires are 55's
Just looked at them at tirerack.com 235/55-17. Maybe too much sidewall?

255/50-17 = 27 1/32" diameter
235/50-18 = 27 1/4" diameter
255/45-18 = 27 1/32" diameter
I like these. I like the taller sidewall.
I am running 17X8 with 255/50 on the front and 17X9 with 275/50 rears.
