I'm fed up with cheap imported crap and it's not just Corvette parts.
Twenty plus years ago I made my first visit to Home Depot. I bought some common nails - the package said they were made in Poland. What crap. Dam near every other one would bend over when hammered. Complete junk.
Recently bought some 3"x3" 2 mil clear poly bags to package some small parts. They are fused closed. You can rub them and rub them and you are lucky if you can get any open before they are all wrinkled and look like chit. I complained to Associated Bag and they refunded me. That's not the point. Herb the multi multi multi millionaire owner imports these poly bags from asia. Don't tell me he did not know this particular shipment was junk. He certainly reminds me of another scammer in Merchanicsburg VA.
Below is a photo of the tarp covering my 18 ft Bayliner lake boat. It's from Home Dumpo about 3 years old and literally disintegrating. Pure overpriced chit - just like most of their products. Without the Orange plastic netting and straps it would be completely gone.
Over 10 years ago my neighbor Harlan asked me to help him excavate a dry well that drained water from his basement. After using my Mahindra Tractor and Backhoe to help him, he gave me a tent with frame work and tarp that the local VFW chapter used for years and then discarded. This tarp has had a foot of snow on it at times and only has one tear from a rough pole, now covered with duct tape.. It has withstood the incredible winds these past few years. The tree along the left side has dripped pollen on it to no deleterious effect. I wish I could find another decent tarp. Below -It's not pretty but it does the job.
It's not just products outsourced. My ecommerce web store initially hosted by Network Solutions and now Web.com offers 24/7 assistance. Sound great, but the helpers are all offshore. One admitted to me being in the Philippines call center. Today I had one that distinctly sounded asian. Their accent is so hard to understand - they are useless. After attempting to solve my problem and failing they want a positive review submitted. KMA. When I ask for another speaker or supervisor, they put you on hold and hang up. I searching for a new host.
Donald Trump is right. Victor Davis Hanson if right. The year 1975 was the last year the USA had a trade surplus. Both political parties lick the boots of Wall Street. They have decimated US manufacturing - 90,000 factories shut. The well known Rust Belt. The middle class is decimated. I do better than some, but I'm part of the Middle Class. The asian imports has definitely harmed my small business.
Vote for democrats, vote for illegals and watch your standard of living go right into the toilet.
