I bought one made by Spectre at Autozone. The guy let me take it out of the box and compare to a K&N filter that they had there and I have to tell you the Spectre look identical to the K&N except for the small Spectre logo on the filter. The K&N was $50. and the Spectre was $20.00, so far so good.

Never heard that one before.
May depend on the carb. Somewhere's in one of Vizard's books he recommends a stub stack for the Holley to smooth out the airflow. Made by....K&N....

ok, serious now.... never heard of turbolence because of a K&N style lid... airflow is just the suction from the engine/carb so why would a top flow lid be restrictive or cause turbolence ?? It sure is less restrictive.... at least it appears to be.....

Kinda like one of them air flow deflectors they used to put in the TPI throttle bodies, to smooth the flow out, supposedly.....they got royally panned many times...TPIS was the originator of that....
