Linda got caught in the middle of yet another rear ender, into the back of her '99 Escort for the THIRD time since she bought it new, and we married about 2 years later....actually she got hit at a traffic light in the Miata, some texting bitch took off at the light, because the left lane did, and busted hell outta the rear of the Miata, I fixed that one....

THIS one was with Linda standing still behind the minivan in front of her, and so this ASSWHOLE slams in back of her with a '99 LTD/ex cop car....shoved the rear bumper up to the rear seat, past the wheels, both airbags went off, caught Linda with the bags/shoulder strap under the neck, and SO flattened out the driver's seat it was laid back nearly flat, her left knee was shoved up/under the dash and for some reason it's not broken we spend 6 hours in the ER here getting her Xrays, and CAT scan...thank GOD she didn't break any bones, or worse.....

SO with knee swollen big as mine if not more, throat sore as a pain, and right hip must have gone into the gearshift somehow......she is HOME now 615 this evening.....

I BET that bastard/bitch whoever hit her was TEXTING I figger a MINIMUM of 40 mph impact, so she was sandwiched.....

how in FUCK can anyone be driving 50 mph down a crowded commercial highway, and FAIL TO SEE a stopped line of traffic....WTF???

I'm welding a effing DUMP truck bumper on the next vehicle, and a HUGE sign that says....hit THAT bitch.....there will be steel spears stuck out of it too.....:censored::ill::hissyfit::banghead:

And to top it off, her wallet is missing, containing d/lic, CC's and 300 bux in cash.....so I wonder who stole THAT.....

No broken bones .... No serious injury .... That's most important, car can be fixed.... I'm not good at knee surgery buf if you need help welding some sheetmetal or paint let me know .... Where the F did that wallet go ?????

Let me guess-- Blanding Blvd?
Glad she's OK. Get her healed up and on the road again.
Get her a old time wrecker for the next car. That 1/2 plate steel rear end won't dent very easy, and it won't move much either. Plus, you could make some side $$.

One of these for her next car-- nobody will be able to touch her- and the little sticker on the left end of the front bumper says, "GENUINE PICKUP TRUCK"

I got rearended at a stoplight a few months ago. I thought at first something had broken in the drivetrain as I was just starting to move but when I checked traffic I saw a car WAY TOO CLOSE. Turns out the squirrel has nailed his Saturn onto my trailer ball and was whining about the damage done to his car!

I said "Seeya" and headed off to work with no damage. That's why I keep the hitch on the back of the Rangey:censored:

Gene,

Glad Linda's ok. That's what matters.

Not much you can do about being rear ended. About three years ago, I was in a car that I was going to buy. I had the check in my pocket and we were headed to the dealer who held the ownership. Got rear ended when traffic stopped abruptly. Ended up passing on that car.

I like Tim's idea though. Having said that, years ago I got rammed while driving a 5 ton stake truck. Rather than being mad, I was shocked that the lady that hit me didn't notice that huge truck.

U got it Tim, Blanding heading south from 103rd toward OPark, and so this silly light between batches of auto dealers....Duclay ......so she is stopped and she never saw shit, but smoke from the airbags she could not breathe so she somehow got lucky enough to get her door open enough for air, not smoke and shit.....should have seen the pix the EMT showed me.....

daughter got the call off Linda's phone, called me, I met the ambulance at the hospital just as they wheeling her into the joint, on the gurney....

:hissyfit:

Tons of family and even neighbors, support, can't ASK in NO WAY for a better support group....

and so my son Tom is flipping in here Monday 10 pm ......

Too bad about the car ... Just be thankful she will be with you for x-mas, I haven't seen a post on that newest school shooting yet but be thankful cause many have it worse than you right now.

Think you all should say a prayer for those families.

Thanks Zeus, Gene Glad to hear your wife was lucky in her misfortune.

Talking about getting rear ended, with a radar and some light source I dont see why you couldn't come up with something that would warn the driver behind when he's approaching at dangerous speed, and show no sign of deceleration.
I heard lastest batch of top of the line Mercedes comes with an ABS that brake enough to prevent front collision, but not too much to leave time to be car behind no to rear end you.

Texting while driving is a real plague, can't describe how I hate this kind of people.

They already have that system, JB Hunt has a system like that in some trucks it applies brakes when to close and warns of being to close to other cars. think it is called wigman or something like that.

Glad your wife is OK. :toothbrush:

Oddly enough, on the way home from the drive in last night, about midnight, on a six+ lane, stopped at a light, heard a big noise, smaller car rear ends a big Ford Excursion. The driver, a younger kid, immediately jumps over the female passenger to switch seats. Two big black mamas get out of the Ford and start yellin their usual chit. :amused:  They were all yelling at each other, I yelled over HEY, they all stopped and looked at me, I yelled, he was really driving, then they all started at each other again.
Light turned green, we took off, but wife turned around in 1st block and in less than 30 seconds both parties gone. Driver probably drunk or high, no one probably had insurance and not much damage to the Ford anyway, but little car was pretty pushed in.

BTW, don't watch "Killing Them Softly" with Brad Pitt, absolutely the worst movie I've ever seen in my life.

Gene,

I am glad that Linda's injuries were not serious or life threatening. Everything else matters little.

Next vehicle should have a diamond plate steel rear bumper and a pintle style hitch.

Hope Linda feels better soon Gene. Just the jolt from getting rear ended is going to cause soreness for a couple of days...the body was not meant to be jerked like that.

I have been rear ended twice now in my expedition...once was on a 4 lane highway...the car that hit me and subsequent chain effect car were both totaled. I had a rip in the rear bumper cover. We were all trying to avoid a semi that had started to swerve across all lanes.

The second time I was rear ended was a couple of months ago. Heavy traffic and stopped for a light....woman slammed into me. Of course she was on her cell phone with her mother. Once again, I ended up with a ripped up bumper cover while her car was totaled.

Just something about getting hit directly on the trailer hitch in an Expedition...
