Plastic Fantastic 2

I pull up to the detail shop and there's a black C8 in front.... my first thought was "wow, they really know how to polish a C3"

apparently I need to have a name for my car.... the lady who owns the C8 has named hers black widow. apparently 3 dead husbands contributed to her C8.... I can't even think of the words....

I had protector put on the hood in matte. Solves 2 issues - first chips but second it reduces hood glare

Drove it the 20 miles home, it ran okay but it's getting better - it'll even get better when I get the tune done

Have you considered a "Clear Bra" for the lower section?
I used a 3M product on the "little-one" and it worked great.
It does have a clear gloss look - but not as nice as you have there!

Cheers - Jim

the hood 'flatness' is paint protection. I thought about doing the nose but it ain't cheap and it already was at the shop 2 weeks.... need it back to get ready to race.

SBG ...to get ready to race.

ENVY - I'm stuck building a deck, adding pavers to widen the driveway, and a complete coolant flush on the Van...

BUT - steering and brakes next on the 'vette! Headers seem to fit with a "bit" of interference with steering rack mount.
It will work out. Cut and weld.

Cheers - Jim

not many pictures but a lot of progress.

hired an online programmer - RA Design Performance out of California. I thought he did just bugs (which isn't a bad thing at all, including an 8s bug) but he did a great job of getting my car to run right. No more self-programming. I also learned a lot about the system. Still have a rewire job to do but as of now the car is officially ready to appear in 12 days at the Optima Challenge in Portland

how do you share the computers? like a teams meeting where he takes control of your lap top? i ask this because in my C5 I put in a Z06 differential and the guy that did it had a programmer tune the automatic transmission for the new gear ratio but he didnt do a very good job and it throws codes on ascending a big hill, it stays in lock up too long. does he have the ability to put a factory tune back on the trans? this is an area that is all new to me. thanks bob

Wouldn't you know, just yesterday I picked up a new trailer.
Sorry, I'm on the other end of the country!
And - Oh, yeah, I'm midway through a cooling system redux on the Tow-Van.
hmmm. "Vincent van Tow?" might work as a label.

Cheers - Jim

use a sharing software where he controls the computer - it works really well and isn't laggy at all (which is the very impressive part). It's not like Teams - Teams is so laggy that it's usually not worth the effort.
I put a link below to them - I'd certainly call and ask him.

and update

Wednesday or Friday at the latest is the word from the shop for my truck returning

I can't praise RA Design Performance enough. I rewired the IACV controller to match the Chrysler requirements (basically move two wires in the pinned connector)

So far, he's spent conservatively 8 hours between Sunday and today getting this thing tuned - and is planning on spending even more getting it fully dialed in, even now, as is, I'd run it but his pushing to make it perfect really impresses me.

I didn't think I was going to make it. Car is tuned, detailed, truck is back (no front bumper) and my assistant kid is going to help at the event.

stupid little wing installed and tw200 tires on the car
