Sydney's Harbour Bridge
A Great Historical Video
This is a very old movie, from our National Archives.
To see Sydney Harbour with no bridge, and the Ferry's and Trams at Circular Quay.

This is a good video on power line safety. It’s about a car hitting a power pole, but the principles apply to any downed power line.
Please share with friends and family. It could save their lives.

NO SHIT!!! should see how they butcher hell outta trees in this burb full of overgrown OAK and Pine trees, due to the over head power lines they say it's like 17kv......pole transformers every few houses that run maybe 4-5 homes each.....

I remember decades ago, Hurry-CAINE HAZEL in Wash DC in '54? me standing in the dining room window and watching rain fall smack dab horizontal past the window....serious I was about ten years old.....I seen rain come down vertical, seen it an an agle, but never SMACK DAB FLAT it was a mess, rain and crap just flying by like a jet plane....

SO a huge OAK tree that was an easy 150' tall lands and jumps the house about a foot in the air, taking out the power lines, and as that HV hit the ground the arcs and sparks went all over the road, and it was an inspiration for a geek like me.....some short years later I was doing a fair job replicating that show in the folks basement, using surplus military field transmitter dynomo's motor/generators so winding it up but good a proper on a heavy 28v supply and then taking a well insulated hot side lead and flashing it off the chassis/ground and drawing and arc about 2' long.....

Told you I was a geek.....:shocking::shocking::gurney:

I used to know Jim Beatty of ATI fame, the torque converter wizard of Baltimore Md......decades ago, I think he retired/sold and is now in Florida..... I knew him when he was in the old shop in Silver Spring Md, off Grubb Rd. and he rebuilt a trans for me back daze ago....

some decades later, I still got that self same trans that went into my Goat convertible....INjected Madness published in High Perf Pontiac Mag....Feb '95 issue.....
SO having sold the car then bought the carcass back, wanted to get the trans back for a super rebuild.....Jim had sold the business to Sherman Slye so I walk in with the trans outta the car, and talk to Sherm....he looks at me and knows me from SOMEWHERE??? so I say, 'Hey man, there has to be an extended warranty of some sort.....this trans just don't shift as hard as it did .....some 15 years and 300k miles ago.....I said that out LOUD in front of the waiting room full of customers.......Sherm about fell over and everyone was laughing.......this was like 30 years ago.....talk about flat footing a buddy......
