This is an early prototype. I wonder what kind of price it would bring.


 
Here is the first video he mentions.

Can’t figure out if he bought the whole car or just the supercharger/FI package. At the end of the last video, sounds like he just bought the parts.

Did they say in the first video that the supercharger was made for Pikes Peak? Cool video but it was difficult to figure out what the history of this was with 3 guys talking at once.
 
Yeah, it sounded like the effort was done and a corvette ran pikes peak. But, pretty sure this was not the pikes peak car, they would have told us if that was the case.

Sounds to me like they bought parts. But pretty cool, and worth a few $$.

He says more videos to come on these.

I think this guy passed fairly suddenly at 45. Vinwiki had a tribute video on him.

 
I have wanted a 72 Split Bumper forever. If I won the lottery, that would be the first thing I would buy. I have had 3 1970-72 Camaro's back in the day but they were far from Z28's or RS cars. The best (condition) one was a 6cyl with absolutely no options I bought for $600. My girlfriend wrecked it.

'72 RS- "bumped it up" to Z-28 specs. Gave it to my Brother-in-law.
Got stationed in Germany. Bought a 68 911S - Targa, a BMW 2002 Ti, then the new '78 Corvette.
Sold the Porsche - gave away the Beemer. The 'Maro was a neat car.
Could have been fun in Europe. It had the look of "Big Iron" and Brute Looks.

Ah well, the "Plastic Magnet" was a people pleaser.

I was a big fan of Trans Am. I think Wide World of Sports used to show the races. I think the attraction was, these looked like the same cars you could see in a showroom. I wasn't quite old enough to drive, much less buy a new car, so it was aspirational.

I was surprised that the log book didn't appear to document the serial number for the car.

Looks like the Steve McQueen 917 go off on the 18th. I friend of mine is at the auction. He told me that another 917 "lemans" movie car that was not owned or driven by McQueen sold a couple of years ago for $14 million. Also told me that, sometime after the movie, the McQueen car was sold for $15,000.

Maybe they obscured it or intentionally didn’t show it. Sometimes best not to give out tmi.

I bet Seinfeld is anticipating the auction. He’s rich, but I’m sure some people told him it was a bad investment. :)
