LS Swap in 78 Vette

Don,
Try to locate the mating connector at a local junk yard or maybe Just Vettes. They are probably available on line but I don't remember the site. Someone here may direct you. The Holley harness has the fuel pump wire you will terminate with the connector. You probably could use any connector set for that matter and re-terminate both ends. Your choice.

It's a normal 3 pin weatherpack conn. If you get a 3 pin female one you can use that to wire it up like stock using the sender wire already there

I have to stop by Old Dog today and see about some Vintage Air vents adapters so will see if they have the plug.
I need to locate some parts for the holley LS swap brackets.
Need a Power Steering Pump, Pulley and reservoir from vette 97 and up. Also need a tensioner Assembly from 97-2004 vette. Looking for a good source for used C5 parts?

Just get a new tensioner. Check Rock Auto or Autozone, they're not that expensive. New PS pump should be around $100 too.

Picked up a starter and alternator from salvage yard today. Got the fuel line ran from rear of car to front today and secured. Getting ready to mount the Wix 33737 Complete In-Line Fuel Filter and don't have the proper fittings in the Dorman repair kit. Is this the correct fitting for inlet? I want to insert the 3/8 nylon line with the least amount of fittings as possible. Going to mount the regulator back by the rear frame rail so I only have the 1 line up front to engine bay. I have compression fittings for the outlet side.

Doesn't the Dorman kit have 5/16 and 3/8" female fittings for the filter inlet and return? Factory used either plastic or metal. On the outlet, you can get a 3/8" Dorman repair line (under $10 Autozone) that's male to male and connect with one of the female connectors.

Will check I forgot and left the kit and the filter/regulator at the hanger.
Checked a few auto parts supply houses and even a speed shop today for the input fitting for the Wix 33733 filter. Is this the correct part? [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Russell-Edelbrock-640930-Quick-Disconnect-Push-On/dp/B003CGSUL0/ref=pd_sim_auto_5[/ame]. Then need to get another fitting for the hard line side.
Or maybe I don't need a special fitting just insert the fuel line?

Here's the 3/8" line you need for the female end of the regulator. It's got the male quick disconnect on both ends. You can use your female fittings and nylon line to attach to that.

Also, both my regulators are hooked up with the regulator female port as outlet. The pressure is perfect. Just found this, looks like the regulator is simply a pressure diaphram on one side of the filter, so it may not be directional.

Progress today. Steering Question

Finally bolting some parts on today. Got the front end back together, jeep box mounted with pitman arm. Steering is nice and tight even though all the hardware has not been torqued. When should I torque the bolts for all steering components?

I've never worried about having the car on it's wheels when tightening up the steering. It's primarily the bolts to the rubber A arm bushings that need to be torqued at ride height

Nylon Dorman 3/8 Fuel line routed, filter regulator mounted, fuel pump wired and installed in tank and tested.
Transmission installed and finished up the B&M shifter mounted in and shifter cable routed. Going to wire the torque converter, lock out wiring will use the brake switch to unlock. Good day at the hanger.
Going to make some kind of I Phone mount beside the shifter.
Engine is getting the block honed and should be able to assemble early next week. Waiting on a couple of Vintage Air ducts to finish the interior.

Throttle cable.

Had to resort to some Bubba today on the throttle cable. Needed a way to attach the cable to the pedal and came up with the brass coupling reducer and cap. Cable is captured inside the nut.
