I have more fun at the races than is fair. :D I know some are miffed at me havin this much fun.

Any of youze is invited to join me at the Limerock Vintage & ALMS races as well as Sebring. Five days in just the paddock at Sebring & I guarantee you'll see more action than ESPN broadcasts. I'd like to go to the Sebring Vintage races in December, but it's not happening this year.

Half the battle, is knowing when & where staging, tech, practice, the garages & the pits are for my favorite Corvette. I map it out like a battle plan. :D

A couple of things I noticed - Doug ran with his hood slightly opened and in the last video coming off the track next to the control tower - you can see him wiping his face with a towel. HOT

That brought back my memories of driving my 63 split in hot weather. It was beastly hot inside. The 1964-1967 and there upon up C3's added more & more heat barriers. They never really solved it until AC became standard in late 1979 production.

But a 1963 coupe is the worst, it had the least protection. I swear I'd never own another mid year coupe unless it had AC. A convertible however is a horse of a different ...

This part of the Corvette hobby is so exciting and different than the highest level of NCRS events – the national and I have attended both.

The latter is where you can see old girls pushed out of trailer with tire covers & pushed into place for judges with clip boards, knee pads, jewelers loupes or broach busters, magnets – all dressed in colored hats signifying different levels of organizational paid event attendance, er … I mean level of judging achievement.

I like to listen to side pipes. :D
 
I am a junkyard picker, and that includes vette junkyards too.....

There are a few of us here in Florida, maybe if we start early enough we can organize a get together at the next Sebring event??? This one looks like a great time, I'd make the trip!!!

Imagine your 63 wearing Nomex, gloves and a helmet.....they prop open the rear of the hood to (obviously) release some heat and some air pressure, as you know the 63-67 front end can get very "light".....
 
Sitting on the grid at Kershaw, SC. Baking in the July sun with your three layer suit on. Brutal, if you did have a fire, you would be steamed like an oyster.
