Wasn't Garlitz the guy who had an engine blow up and take out his feet/legs, and then pioneered the placement of the engine behind the driver, and got better traction for the effort???:hunter::beer:

If you are ever passing through - the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing is well worth an afternoon stop-over. Ocala, FL, and just off I-75. If your timing is good, you might catch a car show on the grounds as well.
