Our 60's hippy dippy welfare crap is what makes the drug cartels, when we stop with that ****, the cartels will have a mortal wound......and that all amounts to about 40% of the fed.gov budget.....

Where do you get this crap? I have known/met drug users before. They all had jobs. Hollywood is full of money and drugs. They don't get it from welfare.

Wow you haven't seen the black/white trash/what ever else houses with tons of kids no working adult and plenty of drugs and booze. Think for a second that isn't funded by the gov? It is a sad situation, and is rampant all over the country. Drugs should be legal and welfare needs to be changed drastically.

Yes I have, and I agree with you. I don't have my head in the sand. I just have an open mind.

Well, your proximity to Hollywood makes their issues seem larger but I thinking more of the vast inner cities with 70% of the population on the .gov dole one way or another, and not talking of SS either, but AFDC, EBT, sect8, just to name the 3 biggies, .....they don't have to work, so they lay around knocking out babies for more money and get the rent covered, and what's that old saying.....something about idle hands/minds? and devil's workshop?? and WE paying for it.....all that ******** Kennedy crap that Johnson got through the congress on a sympathy vote after '63.....

:huh2::suspicious:

On this I agree. Just one more good intention corrupted out of context.

don't judge a law by its perceived intention, rather by the outcome or effectiveness

I agree that all those 'illegal drugs' should be legal, and regulated like any other.....it's a no win ballgame, the crap exists, so to quit with the 'war' and eliminate the welfare, and tax the now legal drugs.....but demand will go down to almost nothing, because everyone has to WORK for food/housing/etc....no time for drugs....:stirpot:

40 years has passed since Nixon declared the war on drugs. 1 trillion dollars later, it is unchanged. Mexico Cartels rule that country, and all the South American countries like Columbia nd Peru depend on it.
Regulating and producing it here would end the senseless violence there, and create jobs/taxes here.
I am afraid it's just a winless war, worse than Viet Nam.

LBJ's "War on Poverty" another loser. 15 trillion dolars later, there are the same percentage of poor as now (1964 vs. 2012).

You would think that we would learn from our failures.

Nope. One thing Gene is correct about. Once we form a new gov. program/division/department, it's hard to kill it.

Why in hell you all think I want a wholesale slaughter of Fed.gov departments for?? AND their cushy retirement plans?? WE have to save the nation, that town is STUPID out of control.....gets down to guns and pitchforks, so be IT, but it simply has to happen.....unless.....

WE the PEOPLE REPUDIATE the debt.....GRAB ALL the gold bullion/ingots on our shores, use it for backing new currency, change the name from buck to ****, as in we not messing around anymore.....

WTF the rest of the world going to DO?? nothing, that's what, and the house of the Red Shield/others can go to hell.....

So Isolationism is the answer now? I thought it was WWIII? Meanwhile, we fire half the Govt. and make them instantly poor?

Not necessary to remain 'isolationist' but we have to stop supporting the rest of the socialist world, and by doing so, following them down the **** tube.....

WTF we owe them?? any interpretation of history I read, seems they owe US more by a factor of 10-1....or better......

I not going to some obvious regions of the world for comment....but you know WTF I thinking of, those regions lay south of the Equator.....except Australia/NZ......:stirpot:

I would say our .gov needs to be run like a business, and skip the EMOtionalism that runs most of poly-ticks....

it makes sense by the bux, or DIE, reality is reality.....

this is NOT GM.....and time for the .gov to admit fizzicks is a bitch and drop all those 'safety' requirements....saving what? ten grand/car, some such .....

:crap::hissyfit:

It's already owned by business. I don't want it run "for profit."
I also have no desire to roll back advancements in safety. They go a tad bit faster than Model T's now.

For profit...that's a hoot. Why not? I would love for the post office to at least make a buck rather than losing 5.3billion.

In case you missed it, the current SS recipients will get less than they paid in....in my books that equates to losing money....

So just what do you want? We continue to run this country at a loss?

The post office is dying from the internet, and UPS/Fed Ex.
Sat delivery must end, and rates will climb.Eventually, it will most likely die.

SS is a two fold issue. the gov. keeps borrowing against it, and the Ponzi style scheme that feeds it is decaying due to baby boomers retireing.

Run the country ata loss? Of course not.

I agree, but that is what our policies are leading to right now....instead of creating and PASSING a plan to reduce the loss, we get another albatross that we cannot afford....

Bird, you cannot have it both ways....so what do you suggest?

I don't have all the answers. Just the hard questions, and a fair morale compass to guide me.

IMO....USPS need go to THREE daze/week delivery MWF that's IT....all that EVER need be done, really lay off maybe 1/3 the workers right there....

I can see .mil/police/fire-EMT work being paid a decent pension but....

80% of what was OVER paid to begin with?? sorry, cancel that ********....

I can see 25% as being decent....REALITY check folks....WTF you think SS pays???

what makes PUBLIC workers so special?? some guy setting in some office doing nothing for 30+ year....

:stirpot:

I have all the answers....but it would take too long to type it up. Just read Economics In One Lesson and you too will know all the answers.

for starters I suggest we stop all subsidies for growing corn we cant eat, we bring our troops home, its funny how each state hates federal spending unitl they have a natural disaster then want federal aid...if you live in a flood zone what do you expect? the problem isnt federal workers the problem is the stupid rules congress passes. lets move to a flat tax.....across the board everyone no loop holes NONE. and as for the last rule about letting corporations donate money to politicians campaigns we need to turn that around. change the federal budget to a two year cycle instead of an annual one or let them use savings from one year for the next year.

and yes we need to only spend what our revenues allow PERIOD i have to do this at home they should do it in DC.

the talk about doing away with entire cultures is way out of line.

I can go along with most of what you said, but on that last line, THEY are the ones that want to do away with US.....and IsREAL......and so just WHY should WE care a whit damn if they die off or not??? why?? I don't 1.3? billion dead muzzies make no difference to me when I get up in the AM , more than them if I didn't.....

Clean house on them while we have the power......tomorrow will be too late....

Corn ethanol is about the dumbest concept I can imagine, takes more oil to grow and process it and transport it than the energy it gives back, seems any damn fool knows that.....BUT you know corn is really hurting and the plains states burning up with lack of rain, while most spring times the Miss river floods out New Orleans.....

Well folks I have had a concept for over 30 years now, that was mainly thought of for the SW regions and even California....It involves maybe 6 nuclear power plants, and giant pipelines picking up spring flood water way upstream at various points along the Ohio river, upper Miss river, and Arkansas river, plus any other location that makes sense, and pumping it over land to the dry areas, instead of letting it all go down to N.O. and flood the Gulf out with fertilizer the weenies complain it messes up the Gulf, well that fertilized water goes to the land again for irrigation....in one location or another.....but NO, the .gov can't allow THAT to happen, they want the water to go to waste, and give the weenies something to bitch about.....:harhar::thumbs: and besides, it would create JOBS that would turn over ~7.5X in the economy.....

......... and as for the last rule about letting corporations donate money to politicians campaigns we need to turn that around.

That one will be so hard to undo, it makes the rest look easy.:push:
