SBG's C3

I think it's a Triumph GT6 much like my racer and avatar.

And it's not such a big deal, I bought cases of that stuff in the late sixties when it was cheap.....:bonkers:

Not mine but a good view of the louvers...

On second glance I think it's an E Type Jaguar, or XKE over here...

I figured you'd have made your own :ripoff:[/QUOTE]

it's an Astro top (it's plastic like the car).... doesn't fit that well, terrible customer service, took almost a month to get (was supposed to be in stock, blem), but I do like its looks and once I knocked out the teflon shims from the windshield, re-threaded a hold down (they didn't clean the burrs off) it fit.

it is a rare sight - to see a British sports car without smoking wafting out of the dash... :bounce:

An old friend from years ago, got outta the Air Force, where he flew C130 in 'Nam, and then B52's......so he gets a rusted out POS Brit sports car....one of the double letter types...MG/etc....little 4 cylinder thing, puts it in Anna's garage, sets it on jack stands and cuts living hell outta the rust parts, meaning the only thing holding it together was the trans tunnel, buys a MIG welder, and teaches himself how to weld on it, puts it all back together, slaps some cheep yellow paint on it, packs it up, and drives from Maryland to the Pru doe Bay Alaska National park.....takes a pix of him at the large brown park sign, and drives it home......all without any roadside failure or repairs.....go figger.....he is the guy who now lives in a old Flower Mill he bought years ago....and has totally rebuilt, it has a LONG storied history, was a whore house, my wife and I have slept in the hooker room, it's REAL, we can assure you.....all the old wallpaper and just the ambience of the place, the main floor with pool table, and this LONG Liquor bar with mirrors on the wall behind, looks like something from Gunsmoke the old TV show....huge wide staircase leading up to the hooker rooms....

the joint was a biker bar, restaurant, dance hall, has a stage for bands.....

even has a red light in the cupola way the hell up top of it's ~4 story height....even has the old dam out back used as a water fall, and a fish ladder he built.....

he used to have a web site some years ago, and I have some pix of the joint somewhere....if anyone interested....:drink:

I was driving the 'vette... even have video of it.... right up until the point I wasn't driving the 'vette (I had to go retrieve it with a trailer).... something spark/fuel issue.

The "ugh" comes from having to push the thing a couple hundred yards to get it off the road.

I'm not going to be here (at least this is the plan) on the 21st... dang it.

there's quite a discussion going on on this on the thread on Bangshift.com (plastic fantastic in project cars).... I won't repost that, but thought, as some are interested in the FAST system, that I'd at least give a heads up here.

.... (I had to go retrieve it with a trailer)....
Looks like it wanted its own "trailer queen" moment.
Hope you have it back on road fast.

as is said - you can have fast or reliable. I'm sure with the computer fixed it'll run just fine.... while I'm waiting, I have a Fiat that's going to get some love in the form of the fuel system and brakes.

DANG SBG,

Wish I coulds been there so one of my Brit cars coulda given you a ride home.:bounce: My Vette has been on the tow truck about a dozen times, the Jag twice, once becuz of the cops and my Range Rover is only been hauled about three times cuz I just drive it until it won't go another inch. One time that was just outside the front gate.

Point is, all cars will Fark you so don't be casting aspersions;)

BTW, since I've gotten older I don't mess around. When a car doesn't run I just speed dial my favorite tow company and bring it home. I'm long past pushing or towing behind a clapped out pickup truck! (Like we all used to do):rofl::rofl:

Everything breaks, I get that.... this actually was a test drive to:
1) see whether or not I solve the clutch problem (I did)
2) test the GoPro mount (yep, needs to be on the upper bar)
3) go hoon

I was successful in all things :)

I suppose I wouldn't have hauled it with my truck IF: I hadn't been 3000 feet from home (all uphill) - had I called AAA, I would not have made it home as quickly....

that said

the biggest reason I didn't call towing

my phone was sitting on a counter at home. :cussing: When I left, I knew I'd always be within 7 miles of my house.... what could possibly go wrong? :goodevil:

heck, it's more fun to join the chorus of those laughing at me....

still - I drained the water out of the empty shell of this car 12 months ago - so I figure I'm doing pretty good...

12 months ago (3/12/2012)

Point is, LOL it's part of our game.

If we were the Mundanes driving the Mundano appliance car to work we wouldn't be on this site. This is Vette Mod! We're all a bit off the track.
