Poser road race corvettes

Hey DEP post up some of those old pic's, i would like to see them :drink:

They are real pics, not digital. I'll have to take a picture of them with my digital camera. Not sure how good they'll look :)

Scan them, then you can post them the same way as digitals.

I would, if I had a scanner

POSER:lol::lol::lol:

Okay...that f-ing does it!!!!
Don't look for a lot of Chevy pics. I was a Ford-Mopar man long before I switched to stovebolts.

Like I said...these are pics of pics, so some didn't come out too hot. My battery crapped out before I could take pics of my 1970 Super Bee and and Rally Nova. :(

The ONLY reason I switched to Chevy was because of parts availability. I can pick up Chevy parts laying all along the side of the road. Ford-Mopar parts cost big $$$$.

That'a also how I got a Chevy--very low price. We will be doing Mopar here in the next year or so. We'll cover 62 thru 76. :smash:

You see FORDs never break, hence no parts needed.:push:

Bullshit, go find a part for a old CATALINA or GRAND PRIX, some of them Poncho engines are rare as hens teeth......

how about a SLIM JIM!!!

how about a 342 '64 posi rear from a Grand Prix?? I had one not long ago, but water got into it, and destroyed it...damnit....just no room inside, was the concept rear diffy for a street rod that will never be done....

Here's an interesting fact....back when they were getting ready to release the Pontiac GTO on the world (1964), they were testing transmissions for durability. And they tested ALL transmissions, not just GM. The test was brutal, to put it mildly. Much worse than anything most guys would do to their cars. Since you could get either a 3 speed stick (standard) or 4 speed stick (optional), both types of transmissions had to be tested. The test involved bringing the RPMs up to red line, then dumping the clutch and power shifting (without using the clutch pedal) all the way down the strip. In EVERY test the GM 3-speed transmissions failed miserably. So what did GM do? They installed a FORD toploader 3-speed into the cars. Presto!!! No more transmission failures. :D

Don't forget, if you want a strong DIFF in a GM vehicle, you need to put a FORD 9 inch or 8.8 inch in it.

:3rd: shame we have to be resorting to dump truck tech for diffy's.....or maybe it's NOT a shame....take your pick...:goodevil:

I remember putting a locker unit in the open diffy of a very LARGE stretch bed crew cab GM truck ex road/highway crew state truck...that thing must have been 50' long....anyway that diffy was about a 14" ring gear...maybe only 12" I forget, but it was a BITCH to get in and outta there.....

had a spicer inspection cover on it, is about all I remember....floating axle ....

mother ducker...

Yep....either that, or a Dana 60. They used those to back up hemis with 4-speeds. Ford is nicer to work on because the whole pumpkin slides out the front without having to mess with C-Clips. You can just drop the whole pumpkin into the back of your car or truck and go to a speed shop and have a new ring and pinion installed. And you can get some outrageous gear ratios without using special R&P gears like a certain plastic body car has to do. :bounce:
And of course, the famous Detroit Locker posi unit bolts right in to a 9-inch Ford rear end ;)
I'm pretty sure all NASCAR stockers use the Ford 9-inch in their cars too.

"Ford is nicer to work on"... I found that to be so true on a number of things.:amused:

I see that I am late to the party but I must admit that the sight of Liverpoodle's emotional meltdown was very entertaining to me. The way that he went on a rampage after Yellow72 was enough to drive me into delightful laughter. I think it is obvious that liverpoodle could use some meds and should be treated with the utmost sensitivity, here at vettemod.com. It seems to me that "poodle" made some recent mods to his car's appearance and they look pretty good to me. I'm not so sure about his bug shields and what not but otherwise, it's good stuff. Is he a poser? I don't know but with a mental condition like he has, I don't think I would want to share a race track with him. Some people are better suited for demolition derbies than road course racing.

I bet i see a picture of his car on a road course before i see yours. And if you want to beat a new Z06 you better get Howard to drive it.
