Poser road race corvettes

Please!!! My eyes hurt looking at that monstrosity. No more pics of it. Reminds me too much of the South side of Chicago.

I could be wrong but i don't think that is the same car. The top one has gangster wheels and does not look like a race car.

I like the way the dude just ignored my questions about who he runs with and whether he is just doing parade laps. How the hell can someone go do a track day and have not one single frigging picture. Everybody has a photographer take picts and they put them on a website whether or not you buy anything.

He's got another pic on his website. Front spoiler and headlights are identical to the 1st pic. In the interest of protecting DEP's eye sight, I won't post it here.

I agree on the pics...If I was racing, I would have pics taken. Hell, I'd probably have them in frames and on the walls in my den, office, bathroom, garage...

My poser pic is better :D at least i had a blonde sitting on my car :tomato:
I think my blonde is nicer than yours though Kev. Although, you do have wheels on your car

I will trade you anytime that you are ready :yahoo: and if i need to take the wheels off my car to get her to set on it,then so be it.
I'm on my way to the garage to take them off right now :D

That's not bad at all. Kind of a shame about the yellow, it doesn't go well with the decals but overall I like it. Love the wheels. What tires are those? Eagle G18 rains? There's quite a few "details" on it like the high mirror, the red light on the roof and white one on the door...just wondering what that plexi glass shield across the hood is.

TT....you're losing it. If you like that car, I suggest you go to the JC Whitney website and get a subscription to their parts catalog. Pretty much everything you see on there is available from Whit.

The plastic guard on the front is a popular item with pickup truck owners....it's a bug/rock deflector.

There's a song Jan and Dean sang about a car like this called Schlock Rod. I can make an MP3 of it and send it to you. ;)

Okay...I looked for the lyrics to Schlock Rod, but no luck. Can't even find the song on YouTube. So I'll have to settle for the Beach Boys "No Go Showboat". It fits it just as well:

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mu6yV8Q0YHo[/ame]

No-go showboat no-go showboat (no-go showboat)

Well I got a wild custom that wins every show
But it's a no-go showboat (no-go showboat)
Yeah but everybody knows that she just don't go
She's my no-go showboat (no-go showboat)
White wall slicks with racing mags
She's just for looks, man, not for drags
'Cause it's a no-go showboat (no-go showboat)

No go
No go

Well the guys all dig it they've got no complaints
About my no-go showboat (no-go showboat)
And the chicks really flip for that metal flake paint
On my no-go showboat (no-go showboat)
It really rates fine in the custom clan
With hand-formed panels, tuck-and-roll rear pan
'Cause it's a no-go showboat (no-go showboat)

No go
No go

Well the engine compartment's filled with all chrome goodies
In my no-go showboat (no-go showboat)
Yeah but everybody takes me even old Ford woodies
In my no-go showboat (no-go showboat)
When it comes to speed, man, I'm just outa luck
I'm even shut down by the ice cream truck
'Cause it's a no-go showboat (no-go showboat)

No go
No go
No-go showboat (no-go showboat)
No-go showboat (no-go showboat)
She's just my (no-go showboat)
She's just my (no-go showboat)

I actually like the car too. I don't care for the rear view mirrors or the bug deflector but overall I like the car. The wheels look like oversized Minilites - sweet... bet they're not cheap.

My L88 hood came from good old JCWhitney :yahoo:

You know with all this talk about posers and no-go showboats,i'm sriously thinking about leaving that 30yo paint on my car and not repaint this winter.

But can i leave all my stickers on the hood, they hide all the cracks, and scratches :bump:

:lol::lol:

I kinda like the car too and I actually dont care much where the parts were bought as long as the part does the job.
As far as cars disguised as racer (is that what you call posers?)
Why not? theres a tons of RC Cobra out there and probably more Z28 than GM actually built.
The guy wants to make his car look like a racer, fine with me.
By the way, I used to put stickers on my cars to hide the scratches,
My opinion.

Did you buy a clear bug deflector too?

OK...we need pics of all those poser tool boxes:lol:

Forty years ago I found this brand new Craftsman tool box in perfect condition on the side of the road (empty of course) I liked the way the guy had his name lettered on the lid so I changed my name, filled the box and throughout the years stickered up the inside of the lid.....I also own a bridge in NY city with a producing oil well at one end and a money tree at the other, and I`m willing to sell it...the bridge NOT the tool box.

Holy crap Howard. I have that same box I bought new in 1972.

Damn, I have the same box. I got it as a present in the late 70's.

The problem wasn't with what the guy did to his car. It really doesn't matter whether he bought all his parts from CF vendors or from the boneyard. The problem was he posted pics of that thing in a thread titled "Vintage road race pics". His car is NOT a vintage road racer. As far as we know, that car has never seen a race track. Yes, there are a lot of replica cars and clone cars running around. But you won't see them posting pics of their cars in a thread that is supposed to be about VINTAGE/ORIGINAL race cars. He then proceded (with the help of a supporting vendor who no doubt sold him some of the doodads on the car) to hijack the thread and make it all about his car. When people like Yellow73SB called him on this BS, he got all testy and defensive.

I really don't care if the guy installed fender skirts and fuzzy dice (which certainly couldn't hurt the looks at this point). The car just doesn't belong in that thread. BTW....it's AC Cobra. The car isn't remote controlled
